Week 39

Dear Parents and Students,

Our last full week of Grade 4 has come to an end, and we have just the four-day week ahead of us.

In the Classroom:

Maths

We had our Topic 20 test on Wednesday, followed by our benchmark and cumulative tests on Thursday and Friday. We have now completed the entire Grade 4 curriculum for Math, and we are now reviewing and enjoying some practical mathematical tasks and challenges.

Literacy Workshop

We spent the first part of the week planning, drafting, and publishing friendly letters. We also published our poems and word art that we had begun composing last week. On Friday, we began planning a final composition for the year, and we will finish these early next week.

Science

We spent the whole week designing and building chain reaction machines, with the final goal being to turn on a light without touching it. There have been so many creative and innovative ideas for storing, releasing , and transferring energy! It has been a very successful project, and a great opportunity for us all to work together towards a common goal.

Other important information

As this will be the final standard Grade 4 news blog for the year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents for your support throughout the year. Support at home is an important part of a child’s education, and I greatly appreciate the efforts you have made to help, assist and encourage your children, and also for the open communication we have maintained throughout the year. I would also like to thank all students for the effort and hard work you have put in since we began last August. It’s been quite the journey!

A reminder that parents are welcome to attend our final assembly on Thursday afternoon. Students will attend a special seminar conducted by the Hsinchu Fire Department, and parents may then join us at 2:20 PM in the auditorium.

As you know, next Friday will be our last day, and students will be dismissed after lunch. The lunch and dismissal times are listed below.
